This Privacy Policy explains how Meople, Inc. (“Meople,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our Site and Service.

1) Scope & Roles

This Policy applies to visitors of the Site and users of the Service. For Customer Data that our customers submit to the Service, the customer is the “controller” and Meople acts as a “processor/service provider.” Our processing of Customer Data is governed by our DPA.

2) Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account & Contact Data: name, email, password, company, role, phone, profile details.

  • Billing Data: payment card details (processed by our payment processor), billing address, tax IDs.

  • Customer Content/Data: data you or your end users upload or generate in the Service.

  • Usage & Device Data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages viewed, features used, time and frequency of use, diagnostic logs, crash reports, and telemetry.

  • Cookies & Similar Tech: cookies, pixels, SDKs for authentication, preferences, analytics, AB testing, and marketing.

  • Support & Comms: messages, tickets, and call/chat recordings with support or sales.

  • Third-Party Sources: data from integrations you connect, single sign-on providers, or referrals.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

3) How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service

  • Process transactions and send service, billing, and account communications

  • Provide support and respond to requests

  • Analyze usage and improve features and user experience

  • Detect, prevent, and investigate security incidents, fraud, and abuse

  • Comply with legal obligations

  • Send marketing communications (you can opt out at any time)

Legal bases (EEA/UK): performance of contract, legitimate interests (e.g., securing and improving the Service), consent (where required), and compliance with legal obligations.

4) Sharing of Information

We share personal information with:

  • Processors/Sub-processors who provide infrastructure, analytics, communications, and payment processing (bound by contractual confidentiality and security obligations). [Link to current sub-processor list.]

  • Integrations you choose to enable.

  • Affiliates for activities consistent with this Policy.

  • Business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition).

  • Legal: to comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not “sell” personal information as defined by applicable privacy laws.

5) Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, functionality, analytics, and marketing. You can manage cookies via your browser settings and, where available, our cookie preferences manager.

6) Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Customer Data retention follows your account settings and our DPA. After account closure, we will delete or anonymize personal information within [90] days unless we must retain it longer by law.

7) Security

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, and logging. No security is perfect; please use strong passwords and enable multi-factor authentication where available.

8) International Transfers

We may transfer personal information to countries other than where it was collected. Where required, we use approved transfer mechanisms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

9) Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent.

  • EEA/UK: You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

  • US (CA, CO, CT, UT, VA): You may have rights to know, access, delete, correct, and opt-out of certain data sharing. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics. To exercise rights, submit a request at hi@meople.co. We may need to verify your identity. You can designate an authorized agent as permitted by law.

10) Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control

Our Site may not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Where required, we honor Global Privacy Control signals for opt-out of certain sharing.

11) Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). If we learn we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete it.

12) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy; we’ll post changes with a new effective date. Material changes will be notified via the Service or email where required.

14) California Notice at Collection

We collect the categories of personal information described above for the purposes in Section 3. We retain information as described in Section 6. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CPRA.
