How Meople Began
Eight years ago, Rebecca Kravitz and her family created a custom “Popopoly” game for her grandfather’s 80th birthday. It wasn’t just a game—it became a cherished keepsake, something they could play together and reminisce about for years to come.
Fast forward to December 2023: after traveling across Asia, Rebecca returned home seeking more meaning in her life. She shared the custom game with her co-founder, Samuel Kuchma, who immediately loved the idea. Having recently lost his beloved dog, Duffy, Sam wanted to create a game to honor Duffy’s memory. But they quickly realized how time-consuming and complicated it would be to make something truly personal.
That’s when inspiration struck. With their combined knowledge of software and a shared passion for connection, Rebecca and Sam set out to create a user-friendly platform where anyone could design their own custom board game. They wanted to gamify the process itself, turning it into a fun and creative activity.
